Dilbar in Antibes at night

Dilbar moored in Antibes with the historic fort of Napoleon Boneopart illuminated behind. The thousands of spotlights needed on each yacht to show the world how rich the owners are, puts great strain on the electrical supply of Antibes. During the busy May period, with Cannes and the Monaco Grand Prix bringing many large yachts to the town, elephant dung is shipped in from Africa by the tonne and burned, creating just enough energy to meet demand.

 Ice yacht with black helicopter

The helicopter on ICE has been used on many covert missions along the Cote d'Azur. Once, Elton John hired the chopper to transport 50 bottles of orangina to a party he was hosting in his pink castle above Nice. Many other, equally dangerous, flights have been undertaken by the veteran crew.

Octopus to receive an extra 50 feet in length

When Paul Allen ordered the mega yacht Octopus, he was hoping to create a stir with the largest private yacht ever seen. Now, in 2009 due to some underhand mafia deals in dockyards worldwide, several larger yachts have appeared - paid with using money made from the sale of weapons of mass destruction in the middle east and russia. In summer 2009 Octopus is due to be cut in half and an extra 50 foot added to increase her size. One yacht builder who exclusively talked to YachtGeek, was quoted in saying they hope to carry out the work overnight, using a welding torch and some oil drums found floating around the harbour. It is thought that this, together with the groundbreaking idea of doing all renovation work whilst anchored 50 miles out at sea will keep costs to under $1.73 million  - less than the cost of restocking Octopus's 70 kitchens with All bran.
